We offer foot care for the whole family. Our facility and staff are here to fully support you in your time of need. We offer a caring environment where our foot specialist (Hasinah Shaqiq, Hons. B.Sc, D.Pod.M – certified by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario) stays updated on all the latest advances in foot care. They attend seminars, complete informational hands-on training and carefully study podiatric journals and general health care. It is our goal to keep you on your feet with the confidence you need to stay healthy.
Hasinah Shaqiq is a registered Chiropodist / Foot Specialist with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodist. She has been practicing Podiatric Medicine / Chiropody since 2009. In 2004 she obtained her Bachelor Science from York University with honours, focusing in Biology and Psychology and completing her thesis in the Abnormalities of the Frontal Lobe. In 2009 she completed Podiatric Medicine at the Michener Institute. During this time, she was engaged at various clinical sites: Women’s College Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Sherburne Health Centre, St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital and Toronto General Hospital.
Hasinah is highly trained in treatment of Podiatric conditions, by means of palliative, conservative, therapeutic and/ or surgical means. She has served as a board member for the Ontario Society of Chiropodists. She has also worked in various private clinic settings, serving the Bolton Community since 2009. She has been serving the downtown Toronto community at the Medcan Clinic – Canada’s leading executive health clinic since 2010. In junction to being the active Chiropodist at Medcan, she is now also practicing both in Caledon and Kleinburg due to the large demand of her expertise .
Jessica Rew is a fully licensed chiropodist who is registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario and is an active member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists. Jessica’s interest in healthcare initially peaked while obtaining her Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree at Brock University, where she graduated with honours. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, she pursued her interest in healthcare by gaining knowledge and experience in the field of physiotherapy by working alongside physiotherapists as a physiotherapy assistant in a private clinic. Through this experience, she saw the importance of foot health and the impact it can have on one’s quality of life.
This experience led to her enrollment in the Chiropody program at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN. During this time, she gained clinical expertise from various hospitals, community health centers and private practices. One experience to highlight in particular was her time at the Ottawa Hospital, this opportunity allowed her to develop advanced wound care skills and the ability to treat high-risk patients with ease. In conjunction with working at Foot Clinic and Orthotics, Jessica also works at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto as a practitioner in one of their family health team clinics. Jessica is looking forward to helping you with any foot care needs you may have. She is currently practicing out of both the Caledon and Kleinburg clinic sites.
Alexandru Dobre, D.Ch, BSc. Hons. Bio/Kin. is a registered Chiropodist who graduated with an advanced graduate diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute of Education at UHN. He also holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology/Kinesiology from York University. His clinical experience includes Newmarket Foot Centre, Ladas Foot Clinic, Think Feet Family Foot Care Clinic, and The Michener Institute Chiropody Clinic. Alex has also worked and volunteered alongside physiotherapists in both Alberta and Ontario, developing extensive knowledge in exercise prescription for common musculoskeletal injuries of the lower extremity.
Through his clinical experience, Alex discovered his passion for getting patients back on their feet through an individualized & holistic approach to patient care. He has developed surgical skills for ingrown toenails and warts and continues to upgrade them to incorporate other soft tissue procedures. He is interested in progressing his manual therapy (mobilizations/manipulations) hands-on skills to offer patients one of the best conservative options for optimizing mobility and pain relief. When Alex is not working he can be found on the tennis court (coaching and playing), hiking, cycling, or spending time with family and friends.
Sumrat Randhawa is a licensed Chiropodist registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario, and an active member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists. Sumrat graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Psychology. Following completion of his undergraduate degree his passion for the medical field led him to pursue Chiropody at the Michener Institute at the UHN in Toronto.
Sumrat was able to graduate from the Michener Institute in 2021 gaining valuable experience in the field working at both the Michener Foot Clinic and as a student intern at Foot Clinic and Orthotics, where he now practices permanently. Sumrat’s passion for Podiatric Medicine allows him to treat a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions, he looks forward to seeing you at both the Caledon or Kleinberg Clinic sites.
Karam Al-Naqar, D. Ch, BSc., is a licensed Chiropodist who graduated from the Michener Institute of Education with an advanced diploma in chiropody with distinction. Additionally, Karam is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology first class with distinction. Throughout his previous clinical experience at St. Michael’s Hospital, The Four Villages Community Health Centre, and The Michener Institute Chiropody Clinic.
Karam has acquired a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience in various areas including wound care, biomechanics, wart treatments, and nail procedures. Karam practices at both the Caledon and Kleinburg clinics. In his spare time, Karam enjoys crafts, art, watching soccer, and spending time with his loved ones.
